Board of Commissioners of Trust Funds
Minutes of the March 12, 2009 Meeting
Present: Mayor Driscoll, Robert Lutts, Thaddeus Buczko
The meeting was called to order by Mayor Driscoll at 5:30 P.M.
Michael Julien of the Carlton School was selected to attend the People to People program and travel to Australia this summer. Michael was seeking funds to assist with his expenses. The Board reviewed all the material presented and Thaddeus Buczko made a motion to approve $1,000 ($500 Beane Fund, $500 Brown Fund) to assist Michael. The motion was seconded by Robert Lutts and voted unanimously.
The Salem State College forwarded bills for the Annual Darwin Festival. The Board had approved $2,500 as part of the FY09 Large Grants from the Read Lecture Fund for this service.
A check was received for the Roland Pinault Salem High School Class of ’41 Scholarship from the estate of Rita M. Jodoin in the amount of $25,179.76.
Three additional donations were received ($50, $25, $25). All checks will be forwarded to the Eastern Bank.
The City of Salem Council on Aging submitted two requests for medication expenses
($246.39, $355.29) from the Endicott Fund. Robert Lutts made a motion to approve the requests. The motion was seconded by Thaddeus Buczko and voted unanimously.
There being no further business the meeting was adjourned at 6:20 P.M.
